Strahan is a thriving little town on the West Coast of Tasmania, surrounded by wild and beautiful terrain. Children from all corners of the world attend our Primary School.
The school is the heart of our community; engaging learning from birth to Year 6. We embrace and appreciate the wonderful network of families, community members and local businesses who support us in a range of ways, including sharing expertise to support learning programs, fundraising, and volunteering at events. At Strahan Primary we encourage all students to become lifelong learners, independent thinkers and active citizens in their community who demonstrate the school and department values.
Our school community values respect, resilience, aspiration, and creativity, along with the department values of growth and courage. Student learning achievements are regularly celebrated in community circle and at assemblies. Leadership opportunities for students are embraced through SRC, House Captain, Enterprise Canteen and Daily PE. We endeavour to maximise outdoor learning by regularly accessing the natural spaces close to our school. Beaches, waterfalls, sand dunes, and rainforests are often features of our classrooms. A broad range of educational opportunities and programs are available in addition to our core curriculum, from cooking to surf lifesaving, chess and art.
Strahan Primary has a team of highly dedicated and professional staff collaborating to ensure our students receive individualised support based on their learning needs.
